Many families and educators in Ontario experience the school day as two separate systems, before/after-school care and the regular school day, which can lead to gaps in continuity, access, staffing, and support. The Seamless Day Model presents a promising alternative by aligning early learning, kindergarten, and before- and after-school programs into one cohesive experience for children, families, and educators.
Under this model, children benefit from consistent relationships and learning environments throughout their day, and families gain more stable and accessible options. It bridges the divide between care and education.

To help communities, school boards, operators, and parents better understand how this approach works in practice, B2C2 collaborated with the Atkinson Centre, CUPE, and CUPW to create three informational videos on the Seamless Day Model with real examples and insights.
Upcoming Webinars
We are currently preparing a series of webinars to explore how the Seamless Day Model can be implemented across Ontario. These sessions will dive into practical considerations of creating more integrated systems of care and learning.
