“We got you” says PM to Canada’s Parents: $10aDay Agreements Extended

Although Ontario has not yet officially signed a new deal, just agreed in principle, most provinces and territories across the country have signed extensions to the CWELCC program. In an emotional press conference, Prime Minister Trudeau outlined the agreements made with the provinces, stating: “Affordable child care is good for kids and parents, and it’s good for the economy as well. Today’s announcement will make sure more families get access to affordable, high-quality child care with lower costs and more savings, and help kids get the best start in life.” According to their press release, the federal government is investing an additional $36.8 billion over five years, starting in 2026-27.
