Equal Pay Day in Ontario is April 14, 2026

This date represents how far into the new year the average woman must work to earn what the average man earned in the previous year. On average, women must work 15.5 months to earn what men earn in 12 months. Equal Pay Day reflects the persistent structural inequality in wages across sectors, including those that are essential to our economy.

Join the Toronto Rally Supporting Child Care Workers and the Care Economy

This year, the Ontario Equal Pay Coalition is mobilizing in solidarity with child care workers and other workers in the care economy.

Without the care economy, there is no economy. Without care work, workers can’t work. But women’s underpaid care work continues to support and act as the shock absorber for the rest of the economy. Enough is enough. Care counts! Wages count! Show us the money!
